Programmer Introduction: Hunter McRight
Hello everyone!
My name is Hunter, and I'll be one of the programmers working on this project.
As a programmer, my job is to ensure that the visions both I and everyone else on the project sees for mechanics and gameplay are properly implemented and feel good to play. Essentially, my contribution is what brings everyone's work together and allows the game to be playable.
For this project, we have been tasked with creating a game that makes the player feel weak or vulnerable. The basic idea of our game involves people who live underground in cave systems making their trek up towards the surface, but they must solve puzzles on the way and, most importantly, avoid the light.
My work will be to ensure that gameplay mechanics, such as being hurt by light and solving puzzles, are properly implemented and work well. When looking for feedback further down the line, the two most important things to look for puzzle wise are 1) does the player think it feels good to play, and 2) does the player know what to do, or at least know the general idea of what they should be doing without getting stuck or frustrated?
I'm excited to work both with my programmer teammates, and with my team as a whole, to bring this project to life!
